The Rule of Law The rule of law is the legal principle to govern the nation, as opposed to being governed by the arbitrary decisions of individual government officials. It primarily refers to the influence and authority of law in society, particularly as a constraint upon the behavior of people including the behavior of the government officials. The rule of law implies that every citizen is subject to the law including the lawmakers themselves. The lack of rule of law is one of the major issues in Pakistan.
